Like many web sites, this site receives and records information in several ways: through the use of cookie technology, and through information that you voluntarily provide to us. This information is used for the following purposes: to fulfill your requests for services, improve our services, and contact you. When you choose to sign up for our services, some of the information you provide may be personally identifiable information. That is, information that can be uniquely identified with you, such as your full name, email address, and so on. This information is only used to provide you with the Elf services.
You should be aware that some libraries keep personal information (such as name, address, phone number, etc.) in your library account. Although this information may be accessible, Elf does NOT access any of it.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Unless ordered by court order, we will not sell, rent, disclose or otherwise make available your email address or other personal information to any outside party.
If requested, for libraries that have subscribed to Library Elf, we will make your card number available to them. This prevents sending out duplicate notices.
Security of Private Information
Elf is a real-time service -- information for email and text message alerts is based on information obtained at the time of checking. For users who have chosen to receive RSS feeds, an RSS file is published. Old or previous RSS files are not kept or retained.
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser when your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.
